In the 1990s, Karyn became a mother, a professional dance instructor, a performer, and a nationally certified yoga teacher. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Nutrition from Goddard College in 1995, followed by advanced training at The Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico in 1997, where she also completed professional massage therapy studies through Universal Massage Therapeutics of New Mexico. In 1998, after healing from several genetic autoimmune conditions, she became the first practitioner to offer professional massage therapy and Ayurvedic health counseling in Newport, Rhode Island.

In 1999, while living on a stone beach in Rhode Island, Karyn created Sacred Stone Massage Therapy, an innovative bodywork system rooted in ancient healing traditions. Over the following decade, she certified more than 3,000 Sacred Stone Therapists worldwide, offering continuing education credits through the NCBTMB and NAMA. Sacred Stone Therapy gained national recognition, with features on Fox Television’s Living Better channel and cover stories in the American Massage Therapy Association Magazine in October 2003 and March 2005. Karyn also published extensively in peer-reviewed trade journals, and in 2012, the Rhode Island Office of Professional Regulation approved the Sacred Stone School and Center.

Throughout her forties, Karyn trained staff at national and international spas and educational institutions while presenting at leading industry conferences, including those hosted by the National Ayurvedic Medical Association and the American Massage Therapy Association. She produced eight professional instructional DVDs, authored more than twenty illustrated instructional manuals, and created nineteen NCBTMB-approved online continuing education courses for massage therapists and Ayurvedic practitioners. Her studies also included early training as one of the first Ayur*Yoga instructors, as well as certifications in numerous complementary healing modalities spanning energy medicine, somatic therapies, and traditional systems of care.

In 2002, Karyn embarked on an eight-year immersion in astrology, earning certification in Ancient Ayurvedic Astrology and later teaching as adjunct faculty at Bristol Community College. Her studies deepened through mentorship with respected teachers in Vedic astrology, Cardology, and time-based symbolic systems. She pursued graduate studies in Vedic Science at Maharishi University, was initiated as a Sidha in the Transcendental Meditation lineage, and later earned a master’s degree in writing and Ayurvedic medicine from Goddard College. These experiences inspired her to establish Rhode Island’s first private, state-approved proprietary Ayurvedic massage therapy school and an Ayurvedic Health Counselor Program.

By 2018, after decades immersed in the science of the body, time, and the stars, Karyn’s intuitive work expanded into what would become the 52 Star Codes—a symbolic system integrating astrology, numerology, and timing cycles into a coherent language of self-understanding. She continues to write, counsel, and teach, sharing this work through books, private sessions, and educational offerings. She is a monthly astrology columnist for local publications and is preparing to launch the 52 Star Code Luminary School online. In 2026, she published 52 UNIVERSAL STAR CODES on Amazon.com.

Karyn’s greatest joy is her daughter, Jaeda Hamilton Chabot, LMT, who follows in her footsteps while carving her own unique path. Jaeda is a licensed massage therapist, holistic healer, organic chef, hair stylist, esthetician, and Newport County’s first licensed permanent makeup artist specializing in micro-blading. She is also a gifted singer, musician, and a source of endless laughter—living proof that healing work can be both artful and joyful. Click here for her micro-blading services and to make an appointment with her. She's also a talented singer and musician and hysterically funny!

It’s never easy to organize a lifetime of work into a few coherent paragraphs—or to speak about one’s own accomplishments without discomfort. For that reason, I asked a dear friend (thank you, Ceciley!) to help write this biography on my behalf.
